Luau Entertainment Schedule
Immerse yourself in an authentic cultural journey surrounded by ancient Hawaiian fish ponds.
Each Wednesday and Friday evening, Kona Village celebrates the culture and heritage of our island home. The island’s longest-running lu‘au begins with the unveiling of traditionally prepared foods in an imu (Hawaiian earthen oven) and on Friday’s, also the umu (Polynesian earthen oven). A sumptuous buffet showcases heritage foods such as kalua pig, lomi lomi salmon and poi alongside modern favorites including fresh island fish, tasty chicken and tropical fruits. Enjoy a complimentary libation along with your meal. Each ‘Aha‘aina honors old traditions while adopting decidedly upbeat formats.

Hula Mana
Experience Hawai‘i’s sacred traditions and history, passed down through the generations, as revealed in hula and chant. Storytelling is expressed in every movement and drumbeat. Hawai‘i’s unique hula differs from the dances of Polynesia. Hula Kahiko is the ancient form of the art. Hula ‘Auana, or contemporary hula, is set to music with guitar and ukulele, instruments introduced after the arrival of Westerners. Hula Mana reminisces about “Boat Days” of Honolulu, the influence of all of Polynesia in Hawai‘i and the island’s Paniolo (cowboys).
Savai‘i, Origins of Polynesia
At Friday’s Savai‘i guests are treated to a vibrant South Pacific lu‘au experience. Beginning with the unveiling of the Polynesian earthen oven, called an umu, alongside the Hawaiian earthen oven, or imu, the evening crescendos to include the Maori songs of New Zealand and their unique poi ball dance, the Samoan fire knife dance, and the hip-shaking Tahitian tamure.
Regardless of the evening, each aha`aina sparkles with energy and the vivacious talent of the performers in an unparalleled open-air setting.
The Luau and Paniolo schedule is subject to modification or cancellation due to weather or seasonal adjustments. Please check with reservations for specifics related to your planned dates of visit.
